CrowsToes Season of the Witch

Hello! I'm back with another amazing polish from CrowsToes. I'm going to do the rest of my CrowsToes one at a time since I don't have anymore full collections. Today I have Season of the Witch which (ha!) comes from the Spring THIS collection. It's a deepened emerald polish in a black base. The green particles (flakes) shift from green to purple/fuchsia.

I wore two coats of Season of the Witch on top of Cult Nails Nevermore (black creme) with Seche Vite as my top coat. The formula was great. It flowed smoothly from the brush and applied without issue. I'll let the pictures do the talking now.

Ok, I'm a little embarrassed by this picture. I had a hard time capturing the color shift and this was the best of the bunch. The duochrome effect is truly fantastic, I just failed at getting a beautiful picture of it.

CrowsToes The Pleiades Collection Part 2

Welcome back to Part to of The Pleiades Collection by the fabulous CrowsToes! I have four more amazing polishes to show you today. There are a lot of pictures so I'm going to just jump right to it. If you'd like to check out Part 1 of the collection, click here

Each picture shows two coats of the CrowsToes polish on top of one coat of Cult Nails Nevermore which is a plain black creme. I used one coat of Seche Vite for my top coat. The formulas were very consistent throughout the collection. So I'll just describe that here. The consistency was just right, not too thin or thick. I didn't have any trouble with flooding my cuticles, dragging, bald spots, etc. Each polish dried quickly and was very easy to remove.

All of the polishes in this collection are duochromes; some have a stronger color shift than others. I'll let you know how strong the color shift was for each polish. This is a very picture heavy post so get comfortable and enjoy!

CrowsToes Alcyone

CrowsToes Alcyone

CrowsToes Alcyone
Alcyone is a blurple (blue/purple) polish with a pinkish/reddish purple color shift. How's that for a description? ;) The duochrome effect is pretty strong and is even visible indoors.

CrowsToes Celaeno
CrowsToes Celaeno

CrowsToes Celaeno
Celaeno is a very unique polish. It's bronze with green undertones and an olive green color shift. The duochrome effect is more subtle.

CrowsToes Merope

CrowsToes Merope
Merope is my favorite from the entire collection and has a very strong color shift. It's a deepened blue green with a purple color shift that looks almost pink in some lights. The color shift was very visible indoors and absolutely stunning outside.

CrowsToes Orion

CrowsToes Orion
Orion is also a favorite of mine. It's a beautiful olive green with a subtle but gorgeous blue color shift.

What do you think of The Pleiades Collection, which polishes are your favorites? I'm a sucker for duochrome and multichrome polishes so it's no surprise that I love this collection. I'll be back with polishes from the CrowsToes Spring This 2013 Collection.

CrowsToes The Pleiades Collection Part 1

I am so excited to show you part one of The Pleiades Collection by CrowsToes. I have four to show you today and am working on the rest from this collection (and from other CrowsToes collections) to show you during the week.

All swatches are two coats of the CrowsToes polish on top of one coat of Cult Nails Nevermore (black creme) with one coat of SecheVite top coat. The formula was the same with each polish so I'll just get that out of the way first. The formula is very easy to apply, not too thin or thick. No complaints! The brush was good, I had no problems using it.

Each polish was opaque on it's own in two coats. I chose to swatch over black because I thought it gave them more depth.

If you'd like to learn more about the inspiration behind this collection (The Pleiades), you can read about that, here

Each polish has a duochrome (maybe even multichrome) effect, some stronger than others. They are all extremely shimmery and drop dead gorgeous. They are beautiful both indoors and under the sunshine. I highly recommend them! Alright, let's get to the good stuff!

CrowsToes Asterope

Asterope is very complex and hard to explain. I see deep rose/burnt orange with a golden shift. Beautiful.

Turquoise with a purple shift. These pictures do not do this polish justice, as I couldn't capture the purple color change. It's my favorite from the four.

Picture Polish Blogger

I am a huge sucker for glitter. It took me about five seconds to decide I "needed" this polish and I love it. The name also makes me smile. Picture Polish Blogger has hex glitter in multiple sizes and colors in a clear base. You can wear this on a base color or by itself. I used one coat of Cult Nails Nevermore (black creme) for my base color and one coat of Blogger. That's right, just one coat. The glitter payoff is crazy. I didn't have to dab it on, I just applied it with normal brush strokes and left it alone. I used two coats of Seche Vite for my top coat. I. Love. This.

Isn't it beautiful? I bought this polish from Llarowe but you can find it wherever Picture Polish is sold.

Zoya Irresistible Collection

Today I have the last of the three Zoya collections for Summer 2013 to show you. I can't decide if this collection is my favorite or the PixieDusts. You know me, if it's glittery or shimmery I'm going to love it! All of the polishes in this collection have a metallic foil finish and a lot of shimmer. My pictures don't do these justice, they are amazing in person. The formula on these are really easy to work with but are a little on the thin side. As long as you wipe the extra polish off of your brush before application, you won't flood your cuticles. All pictures were taken in my light box.

Zoya Tinsley
Tinsley is a beautifully complex polish. It's a metallic rosey peach with gold shimmer. Depending on the lighting, Tinsley can look more rosey or peach. It's on the sheer side so I used three thin coats.

 Zoya Bobbi
Bobbi is a bright metallic magenta polish with silver shimmer. I used two coats. This would be a fun color for a summer pedi.

Zoya Amy
Amy is a metallic orange polish with gold shimmer. It leans a little more to red orange than my pictures show. I used three thin coats for the picture but two coats are plenty. The polish is a little thin, just wipe off the excess from your brush before application.

Zoya Kerry
Kerry is a metallic yellow with gold shimmer. If you love yellow, you'll love this. I used three thin coats because I smudged one of my fingers. Two coats are just fine. =)

Zoya Rikki
Zoya describes Rikki as being a fern green foil metallic. It has a golden shimmer like most of the polishes in this collection. I love green polish so this is one of my favorites from the collection. I used two thin coats.

 Zoya Hazel
Hazel is an icy metallic blue polish with gold shimmer. It reminds me of Zoya Crystal but when I put the two bottles next to each other I saw how different they are. If you are interested, I can compare the two for you. I used two thin coats.

I absolutely adore this collection. Zoya is so good at making foil metallic polishes, I love them all with the exception of the yellow. It's a very pretty yellow, my skin tone just doesn't get along with that color. What do you think? Do you have any favorites?

Zoya Summer PixieDust Collection

I am back with another collection from Zoya for Summer 2013. This time, I'm showing you the Summer PixieDusts. This collection consists of six textured polishes. Half have silver shimmer and the other half has gold shimmer. Zoya recommends not using a base coat or top coat. If you don't like the texture, you can always wear a couple coats of top coat to get a smooth glossy finish. I always wear base coat just to prevent staining.

The formula was consistently amazing, not to thin or thick. I have found that textured polish needs extra time to dry but once it's dry it wears very well. These come off very easily. I know, they are rough and glittery and look difficult to remove. You don't need to use the foil method, just a little bit of pressure and they come off without a problem.

I wanted to take my pictures of this collection outside. I took four outside and then the clouds and rain came. Miranda and Liberty were taken in my light box and I like how those pictures turned out the best. Go figure!

Alright, let's get to why you're here!

Zoya Solange (without topcoat)
Solange is a yellowy gold polish with golden shimmer. I used three coats because I had a tiny bit of vnl (visible nail line) that I didn't want to show in the pictures. When I wear this I will only use two coats.

 Zoya Solange (with topcoat)

 Zoya Beatrix (without topcoat)
Beatrix is a bright tangerine orange with golden shimmer. It's the perfect shade for summer and would be cute as a mani or pedi! Once again, I used three coats for the camera. Two coats is sufficient.

 Zoya Beatrix (with topcoat)

 Zoya Destiny (without topcoat)
Destiny is a bright orangey coral with golden shimmer that borders on being a neon. It's too bright for my skin tone but it's going on my toes this summer! It's very close to being a one coater but I used two coats.

Zoya Destiny (with topcoat)

 Zoya Miranda (without topcoat)
Miranda is my favorite from the collection. It's a deep rose polish with silver shimmer. I love it with or without top coat. I used two coats.

 Zoya Miranda (with topcoat)

 Zoya Stevie (without topcoat)
Stevie is a lavender polish with silver shimmer. I used two coats.

Zoya Stevie (with topcoat)

 Zoya Liberty (without topcoat)
Liberty is another favorite of mine. It's beautiful deep blue polish with silver shimmer. Be careful, it's a stainer! I used two coats of base coat to protect my nails. I didn't have any staining but I only had it on long enough to take pictures. Other bloggers have had issues with staining but may not have worn base coat. I say double up on the base coat and go for it, Liberty is too beautiful to pass up.

Zoya Liberty (with topcoat)

I'm really enjoying this textured nail polish trend. Something I love about it is if you don't want the texture, put a top coat on it and it's still beautiful! Which polishes are your favorite from this collection?
